Co-hosting Organizations
Productive partnerships for effective support to refugee-hosting municipalities: best practices from forum co-hosts' experience in Turkey.
UNDP
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) works in more than 170 countries and territories, helping to achieve the eradication of poverty and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion. For more than 50 years, UNDP has supported countries in building resilience and advancing sustainable development.
In Turkey, UNDP has worked closely with the Government of Turkey and local municipalities to strengthen institutional capacity, promote social cohesion, and support inclusive service delivery in communities hosting large refugee populations.
UNHCR
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights, and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced communities, and stateless people.
UNHCR has maintained a strong operational presence in Turkey, working alongside national and local authorities to ensure protection and assistance for one of the world's largest refugee populations. The organization collaborates with municipalities to enhance local protection frameworks and promote durable solutions.

Both UNDP and UNHCR brought extensive field experience to the Municipal Forum 2019, sharing practical approaches developed through their collaboration with Turkish municipalities.
